Your local family run Garden Centre

Dundry Nurseries has come a long way since the first seed was sown by my Grandfather, Robert Palmer, in 1947. I`m now the third generation of the family to run our traditional nursery and garden centre, and along with our friendly, experienced staff, we pride ourselves on our gardening knowledge. We are always happy to give a helping hand or answer your questions. At our site, between Cheltenham and Gloucester, we produce a varied range of home grown bedding and vegetable plants, and alongside this we offer all the essential ingredients for successful gardening.

We are also famous for our seed potato selection, which is second to none. We are proud to offer over 100 varieties, and all are sold loose. We look forward to welcoming you soon to Dundry Nurseries.

Jobs for May

  • Plant out tender bedding plants once danger of frost has passed
  • Plant tomatoes, peppers, chillies and auberinges in grow bags or pots in a greenhouse. Wait until the end of the month if planting these outdoors

  • Harden off potted Dahlias and Cannas before planting into their final positions
  • Courgettes, squash and pumpkins can be planted directly into veg plots at the end of the month
  • Sow Runner beans and French beans from the middle of the month for planting out once danger of frost has passed
  • Pinch out the growing tips of Broad Beans to help reduce the inpact of Blackfly
  • Continue to sow succesions of salad crops, a small pinch of seed every few weeks will give a much longer harvesting period
  • If you haven't planted Seed Potatoes yet due to the wet weather they need to go in this month
  • Direct sow Beetroot, Chard, Spring Onions, Carrots and Parsnips this month
  • Apply a Feed, Weed and Mosskilller to lawns
