Your local family run Garden Centre

Dundry Nurseries has come a long way since the first seed was sown by my Grandfather, Robert Palmer, in 1947. I`m now the third generation of the family to run our traditional nursery and garden centre, and along with our friendly, experienced staff, we pride ourselves on our gardening knowledge. We are always happy to give a helping hand or answer your questions. At our site, between Cheltenham and Gloucester, we produce a varied range of home grown bedding and vegetable plants, and alongside this we offer all the essential ingredients for successful gardening.

We are also famous for our seed potato selection, which is second to none. We are proud to offer over 100 varieties, and all are sold loose. We look forward to welcoming you soon to Dundry Nurseries.

  • Harvest 2nd Early potatoes when the foliage begins to yellow
  • Regularly deadhead and feed bedding plants in pots, baskets and containers
  • Plant "Christmas" harvesting seed potatoes
  • Feed tomato plants every 7-10 days with a high potash feed, pinch out sideshoots too
  • Plant out over leek plants
  • Thin out fruit on apple and pear trees
  • Cut back hardy geraniums to promote more flowers later in the summer
  • Sow over wintering brassicas, kale and sprouting
  • Prune wisteria by removing the whippy growth
  • Pinch out growing tips to prevent blackfly
  • Prune stone fruit like plums and cherries
  • Spray roses with a fungicide to treat blackspot
  • Harvest garlic and shallots, leave to dry before storing for use later in the year
  • Cut sweet peas daily to prevent them going seed and to keep them blooming for longer
  • Sow autumn flowering pansies and violas
  • Harvest beans, beetroot, salad leaves, carrots, courgettes and peas
  • Keep on top of weeds by hoeing
  • Apply a feed and weed treatment to lawns
